Promoting your brand with Social media
Feb 23, 2011
“A group of marketers talking about social media ROI is a lot like a group of 7th graders talking about sex: everyone talks about it, but no one has ever done it nor does anyone have the slightest idea how.” ~ Argyle social
“Don’t talk unless it improves silence” ~ Buddha
“Your audience would fight you, but your community would defend you.” ~Social fresh conference
“If you can’t do copy and paste, don’t engage in Social media marketing.”
These were some of the “tweet away” quotes I got from Social fresh conference in Tampa, Florida (USA). It was a conference packed with fire and an audience that was ready to learn how to take their brands and businesses to the next level using social media marketing.
You want to ask if I was there. Yes, I was. But, I joined virtually, via twitter stream. Now I present to you the juices I got from the conference. The conference answers some of the questions I have, that I am sure you have too about using social media as a marketing tool and how to measure the ROI, yes ROI!!!
I can’t do justice to a two day conference in a single post, but I would give you the best “tweet away” (take away). Lets ((((((goooo))))))

How to find great people to follow on Twitter
Feb 16, 2011
If you get on twitter without having a goal (what you hope to achieve with it) it would be like jumping on a bus (any bus) just because it is going somewhere you don't know. It is imperative you set up a goal before signing up on twitter. (I did not, when I first signed up on twitter July 2010 and now I have lots of spam trailing my tail ~ subject for another day)
To find great people to follow on twitter you have to do the followingPosted by Fitdad at 3:10 PM | Labels: networking, twitter | 6 comments | Email This BlogThis! Share to X Share to Facebook |

Social Capitalism, Why it is the best business Model
Jan 28, 2011
“Let the hacking begin: If facebook needs money, instead of going to the banks, why doesn’t Facebook let its users invest in Facebook in a social way? Why not transform Facebook into a ‘social business’ the way Nobel Price winner Muhammad Yunus described it?http://bit.ly/fs6rT3 What do you think? #hackercup2011”
That was the message update on the facebook page of Mark Zuckenburg. some few days, ago. Since I was his fan, I caught the updated message and took a snapshot of it.I wrote an article about social capital and its benefits for entrepreneurs. The more I use social media networks like facebook, twitter, linkedin, Quora and the others, the more the points keep starring at me in the face. The good question am asking today is; why is social capitalism the best business model?Posted by Fitdad at 12:37 PM | Labels: entrepreneur, facebook, social capital | 0 comments | Email This BlogThis! Facebook obsession, see the statistics.
Jan 15, 2011
This statistic is huuuugggeeee!
Though it may not be exactly 100% accurate, it does give us an insight into how important facebook is to us.
Admit it or not, for those who have access to internet on their phone or their computer or both, you would almost always find a larger percentage having a facebook account. The obsession with facebook is so much that companies are using it as an engagement tool with their customers.
If you were a fisherman, won't you rather fish during the time fishes can be found and where they can be found? My question is; is the obsession with facebook having an impact into our offline relationships? Or could it be said to be a superficial kind of connection? Feel free to enjoy the infographics from SocialHype and OnlineSchools.org.

NEW Media; create alliance to improve your brand
Jan 8, 2011

Showing the number of Nigerians on facebook
I just posted on my facebook status that I would be offering a one-on-one coaching for entrepreneurs, start-ups and companies that would want to use new media to re-position and re-imagine their brand. This is a very crucial year for businesses. The boys would be separated from the men.
Most businesses use the old system of spreading message about their business, here I will call it the traditional media (TV, radio, newspapers, magazines, and bill boards). The New Media is the new and the proactive way businesses should be done. why would you do things the way you have always done it, if it is not yielding desired result? It would be better to change strategy. In this case their is a need to move from Traditional Media to New Media.

There are three things I think you will almost always not want to live the house without.
*Your House Key*Your phone
The Mobile Phone which became Popular in Nigeria from 2001 has become part of our culture. Doest it happen to you sometimes, you are looking for the TV remote and you feel like flashing it. May be they should start building sims (micro sims) into remote controls. *evil laugh* (hope MTN is reading this post, free Idea).
